The importance of health cannot be emphasized enough in today’s fast paced lifestyle, and women especially are in need of “getting out of the homes” and adapting a healthier lifestyle. They are the primary decisions maker when it comes to food and lifestyle at home. Panjalai Karisnan and her association Pertubuhan Amal Murni believe that keeping fit in a group is more effective, so ladies, let's line-dance our way to health.
WHAT ?
Dance for Health is a 6-month healthy lifestyle program based on line-dancing targeting the folks of Ipoh, Perak.
WHY ?
This programme, run by Pertubuhan Amal Murni, aims to instil an increased awareness of keeping fit for a healthier body. Women, especially mothers and wives, have less opportunity to go out and excercise. With Dance for Health, Panjalai is organizing a fun, educational avenue for people in Ipoh, especially the ladies, to step out and be active.
HOW ?
150 women around Ipoh will gather to perform a mass line-dancing routine guided by expert instructors. Health talks and medical camps will also be held at the venue, and this will hopefully encourage the women, often decision makers at home, to make healthier choice in feeding and caring for the family.
