Armed with a strong passion for arts and a knack for business, Nik plans to bring the spotlight to a batik community in suburban Kelantan. Nik devises a program to help improve the livelihood of the local youths through quality Batik production and efficient marketing strategies.
WHAT ?
Destinasi Seni is a 6-month Batik-making and entrepreneurial skills training program for secondary school leavers from less fortunate background from Kampung Penambang in Kelantan.
WHY ?
This programme will not only address the nation’s call for Skilled Malaysian Workforce. It will also indirectly bring to life the art of Batik making amongst the younger generation. Destinasi Seni will also encourage capable youths to tap into their talents and help improve their income and living standards.
HOW ?
The participants of Destinasi Seni will be trained for 6 months based on various modules, which include not only courses on Batik making, fashion and textile, and entrepreneurship, but also art classes that expands the youngsters' horizons to art from all over the world. The youths will also explore online marketing and branding of their product. The aim is for the students to venture on their own production once the course is over.
