Yayasan 1MDB donates RM100,000 to widow of Datuk Loganathan of Alleycats

KUALA LUMPUR, 8 August 2012: Yayasan 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) has pledged a RM100,000 donation to help Datin Susan Lovie ease her hardship after her house was badly damaged by fire.

The plight of the widow of Datuk Loganathan Arumugan of the Alleycats caught the attention of Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Haji Abdul Razak.

Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib, who is the Chairman of the Y1MDB Board of Trustee, expressed his concerns.

1MDB Chief Executive Officer Datuk Shahrol Halmi said: “The Prime Minister felt some help would be appropriate because the Alleycats made the nation proud through their significant contribution to popular music.”

“The multiracial band and their hit songs bridge the boundaries of race, religion and creed to unite the people. They are a true embodiment of 1Malaysia,” he said.

The foundation is honoured to lend a hand.
